Program Goals
Building Blocks promotes a program that includes educational, social, cultural, emotional and recreational development appropriate to the ages and developmental levels of the children we serve.
The program content will reflect the needs and interests of individual children.
The program provides children with opportunities for learning and self expression in small and large groups.
The program provides for experiences that are designed to influence a positive self-concept.
The program provides age-appropriate play equipment both inside the day care center and in the outdoor play space.
The program provides outdoor play twice daily as long as weather permits.
The program provides appropriate rest and quiet periods in accordance with individual and group needs.
The program provides children the opportunity to develop through active manipulation of materials and interaction with peers and adults.
The program provides children in all age groups freedom of movement and an environment with materials and equipment appropriate to their age and developmental level.
The program offers referral services to community resources when children and families are in need of supportive social services not provided by the center.

Your child’s day (excluding infants) will consist of the following activities. The times will vary depending on the age group.
